Gripes and Silver Linings

I have a whole assortment of things bugging me today.  I wanted to share a list of gripes, but then thought to myself, "How therapeutic and meaningful is sharing a list of things that are bothering ME?  Doesn't everyone have their own problems?  And aren't I supposed to be some sort of wellness coach?"

I immediately thought of 'silver linings' as a loop-hole :-)  That way, I can write down what is irking me and then examine those irks for something good that has or will come of it!  I'm not sure how to do this so I think that I will write a bunch down and then re-visit each gripe for a more thorough chit-chat :)

Here we go . . .

1) Morningtime, why must we always be at odds?  We incessantly bicker and oftentimes, you win, but sometimes I comeback with a "haHA!" nap!  Anyway, I'm tired of being constant rivals.
2) Really, feet?  Even by varying shoes worn each day and sometimes throughout the day changing shoes, you still want to give me pain?  Grrr.  This argument is also getting old.  I'd like to have one less excuse for not exercising :-|
3) To all of those people who do not return emails promptly - BLAST! I understand that you may be busy or have no answer at present, but at least acknowledge that you received my email to prevent me from sending a barrage of 'reminder' emails your way!
4) Florida - why are you so HOT?  I mean, really.  By mid-morning, the sweltering heat is already such that taking the dog out for a potty break or dumping garbage seems a task too energy-sucking to be deemed worthy! (Don't worry, I still take the pooch outside.  Unavoidable, if I want to keep her healthy and my home's floor potty-free.)
5) Minnesota - why are you so far away? That's all.
6) Health Insurance: UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH. SOOOO FRUSTRATING.   >:-(

Okay, so for right now, those are the things that are bugging me the most.  And, I don't feel like finding silver linings at this point, but perhaps anyone who reads this will comment and find one (or a few) for me? :-)  I will definitely revisit this topic after I get some more coffee and some food in my belly!  Until then, don't think I am just a curmudgeon; only human. :-)

Ready for silver linings?  It's been about 9 hours since I wrote those gripes.  Just went for a 40-min walk with the roomie and wanted to *document movement!* and figured that I might as well write those silver linings!  A few of them are courtesy of friends (thanks, Dr CK and thanks, SF!)

1) Morningtime: just because it is not the easiest time of day for me (body or mood), it still means that I have a whole day ahead of me to be HAPPY and LIVE :) I don't have to force my body to do things that are uncomfortable - using afternoons or evenings to exercise is perfectly fine.
2) Feet.  I have two of them.  And they work. The end.
(well, I want to add some advice from those friends that I mentioned earlier--Dr. Scholls for Her Inserts/Insoles, and KSWISS Recovery Shoes (<--link to a nice review by a runner who blogs!).  I want to try both.  We shall see what the grad-student budget allows...
3) My timeline isn't the same as everyone elses'.  Patience is a virtue.  Right?
4) Thanks, again, to friends for reminding me that I will not need to dress in a parka and carhartts to take my dog for a walk when its "winter in Florida".  And, the heat must be good for other things.  I'm thankful for fans?
5) MN, you are far away because then I can be fantastically happy when I finally arrive after a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong car ride!
6) no comment. none. zip. sorry.

Time for a shower :) Thanks for reading!  Ta-ta.
