Everything that I stated yesterday about morning? Irrelevant today. Woke at 4am and wide awake. Took the dog out, attempted to relax and sleep in both my bed and then the recliner, but it was no use. Finally, I just succombed to being up at a ridiculous hour and presumed that I would be needing a "nap" around 6 or 7am. When 5:30 rolled around, I was still wiiiiiiide awake, so I started working on some projects (quietly, as my roomie was still asleep), made some coffee, and stopped trying to fight alertness! <--How often does that happen? That a person has to struggle to NOT be alert during the day? I'm such an odd duck . . . In any case, at 7am, I decided that I might as well take advantage of this wakey-wakey time and the coolish morning weather to run with the dog. Morning runs would definitely be preferred (by this gal) on a regular basis, as then I can shower and get on with my day without obsessing throughout the day about when I will get the exercise in and if it will interfere with other plans that may come up.
Had a nice 45-minute run/walk today; approximately 3 miles, and I'm okay with the fact that I only averaged 15-minute miles. Glad to have it out of the way for the day and be showered and clean without needing to do that whole rigamarole again. (Does anyone else have an aversion to showering more than once per day? Mostly it's the hair washing part that gets annoying. And having to change clothes again. Not to mention it adds to the ever-growing pile of laundry. I know my sis has the same feelings as me toward all of the above: mornings, changing clothes more than once a day, and showering. It's not that I don't like to be clean. It's just a hassle. Sometimes body-showers/a rinse does the trick so that I don't have to wash my hair again. TMI? Too bad. I guess the silver lining is that I am thankful to have hot and running water to use!)
