Balance, Strength, and Length

Short report today - completed Day 24: Yoga for Lower Back Pain. A gentle, 'easy' practice (for me) today.

I'm becoming more comfortable using variations of poses as my body needs (examples: shifting weight, moving out of poses, moving with my breath rather than at the cues of instructor).

Soften; gentle movements; balance strength with stretch (length) - these words that stuck out to me through the practice. Fitting and necessary, as I so often want to push myself (competitive?!) to work harder, be stronger, move faster. Ironically, working with clients I hear myself using the cues the instructor used in the video today rather than the words I use to push myself.  More cues for me to use compassionate self-talk, especially during time of healing.
