What up, Snow Day?!

Hey, homies!

What's UP?! I have honestly not missed writing blogs for one reason alone: Extra time on the computer making my eyes roll back into my skull has NOT been appealing!  Please continue reading for explanation!

I have been working at a few local business places in my new city of residence and have been running around like a goofball trying to have meetings with one business owner, then go work at the next place, followed by sitting down to reply to a list of emails and hurry to whip out a workout plan for the next day's group fitness class . . .

Let me also explain that I am employed at four (4) places, am paid 1/3 to 1/2 of what "society" and "credentials" and "experience" say that I am worth, put in nearly 50 hours per week, and am struggling to get paid for my time.  Know, too, that I knew entering the workforce in the field of preventative/proactive and holistic healthcare would be difficult, but HOT DAMN!  I know I'm not the only one frustrated, but this is my blog, so this is about me :-)

Okay.  So, the important stuff, exercise and nutrition and all that jazz.  I was able to go to a yoga class yesterday because a meeting was re-scheduled.  PRAISE THE LORD.  Needed that yoga class.  Have been slacking on the dog-walking duties in the last couple of weeks - honestly, I have either been too tired (morning) or too sore (evening).  Poor doggy.  Good thing one of my roomies walks her doggy, too, so that helps with accountability.  I've been teaching group fitness class on Thursday and Friday mornings, so I have been getting in pretty decent workouts on those days (strength, some cardio).

Need to do better with the nutrition bit.  Have been eating WAY too many sweets-y stuff in the last month . . . darnit!  I was doing really well for 2012, until February hit. . . okay.  Need to resolve to eat more veggies again.  Which means I need to buy them.  Maybe I can do that tonight, since my hours were cut at work and I don't clean fitness studios tonight. . .

Snow day meant a lot of job applying, book reading, and I did go to a tanning booth when my "hot bath" failed for lack of hot water (had been doing laundry) . . . bugger.   Oh well, a little "sunshine" hopefully improved my mood.  I do kinda miss Florida.  However, I wouldn't have been able to romp around in the fresh snow this morning with the doggies had I been in FL!

Silver lining.  Shoveling snow and playing with dogs in snow is good physical activity (so long as you engage your core and use your legs when shoveling/lifting) :-)

Happy Trails To You!
