On the move again! Well, not so much by way of physical activity. Am traversing southward, back to Florida, for another five months.
Thank you to all of the fantastic friends and family who kept me active and eating healthily (for the most part) on my 6ish-week "sabbatical" in Minnesota! Other than a few days of not-so-health-consumption of food and beverage, I ate lots of fresh fruit and veggies both on the road and while staying with people. I am learning more about how to control what I put in my mouth [and, therefore, my body] slowly but surely - even people educated in nutrition and physiology have psychological and physiological cravings! [And lack of will-power!]
As well, I have enjoyed lots of walks, jogs, walk/jog and run/walks, a morning of boot camp, a few swims, some yoga, canoeing, and hiking . . . yay!
I have a couple of goals for this fall that I want to have "written" so that I work more toward being accountable to them. One is to find a group fitness class to attend each week at one of the university recreation centers - either to find one and stick to it for a while, or switch it up once in a while. My second goal is to have one day per week that I get to the weight room for total-body weight lifting. I have figured out my school schedule and am waiting on my work and intern/volunteer schedules and then I should be set to fill in scheduled exercise times! (This will not detract from the daily 1-2 walks with the dog, 1-2x/week bike rides, and hopefully a swim at least twice per month. That's a lot of goals. Gunna work on a couple at a time!)
On a side note: I started reading, The Happiness Project, by Gretchen Rubin. <--to which I linked her blog. I LIKE IT, SO FAR!!!!
