Live in rooms full of light
Avoid heavy food
Be moderate in the drinking of wine
Take massage, baths, exercise, and gymnastics
Fight insomnia with gentle rocking or the sound of running water
...Change surroundings and take long journeys
Strictly avoid frightening ideas
Indulge in cheerful conversation and amusements
Listen to music.
~A. Cornelius Celsus, (ca 25 BCE—ca 50)
I feel like this resonates deep within me! If I could love a verse or proverb or mantra or whatever you want to call it, this would be one that would receive my love! Especially the listen to music: As of late, I have been waking up feeling pretty "meh" in the mornings. Now, I know you know that morning and I have a love/hate relationship! Lately, I have been working at just getting up and getting acclimated to being awake and ready for the day in the morning by finding some good jams on youtube! Some of my favorites this week, all country music songs, have been "This Ole Boy", "Baggage Claim", "Tough", "Giddy On Up", "Lover, Lover", "Up on the Ridge", "Take it Off", "Drinkin' Song", "Here Comes Summer", "Smoke a little Smoke", "Am I the Only One", and "That's How Country Boys Roll", "Trucks", and "Storm Warning". Yes, it's quite a list. There are a few more that have dabbled in the mix, but these have been played pretty much daily for the last 3 days! Good tunes can really change a person's outlook on the day :)
On a physical activity note, my roommate and I went on a nice 40-minute walk that was to the dog park and back, so really, 2-20 minute walks with a nice little break in the middle for my pooch to socialize with other doggies and run free a little bit!
And Mom, my Sauconys did alright :) My feet are still getting used to them, but I've been wearing other shoes, too, in attempts to strengthen my stabilizing muscles in the ankles and feet and continue to work on strengthening my feet!
