Then WHAT is the problem with my motivation?! Wow-weeee.
Thankfully, friend CO and her friend Britt were going for a run in San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park this morning and CO encouraged me to join the morning movement by bringing my dog and walking one of the trails while they ran.
I was literally looking for just about any excuse not to go - even before today! Last night, after going with some friends to eat at the nummy Boca Fiesta restaurant, we walked to Durty Nelly's to listen to some live music and CO had the opportunity to sing and play on stage during one of the band's breaks! When I arrived home and popped on the ol' "fb" (ostensibly to post some pics from the evening for CO) I read about the completion of the order on Osama Bin Laden. WOW. That woke me right up. Tuned in to MSNBC for live coverage and learned what in the world was going on and waited to listen to President Obama's address to the nation (very well done, I might add).
So, when I finally crawled in bed and set my alarm to wake at 7am, I was already thinking, "I could just send CO a text now saying that I need to just sleep since I stayed up to watch the important historical events go down this evening . . . " I knew it was a total scapegoat and COULD be true, but I wouldn't have wanted to get up at 7 regardless of when I went to bed. I think that is sort of a rut for me - I like to have so much time to myself and not have work or school to haul me out of bed in the morning, but then I act so LAZILY.
Well, the 7am 'whistle' blew and I hit the snooze button several times. At 8 bells, I text my friends to ask if THEY were still going since I hadn't heard from them. I got a call a few minutes later stating they were heading out the door in a few minutes.
Moment of truth.
Do I join? Or use an excuse and stay home, only to 1) sleep too long, 2) not take advantage of the cooler morning weather, 3) miss out on a nice morning with friends, and 4) probably not move enough throughout the day in the end.
I got my lazy behind out of bed, threw on shorts and tee, and grabbed the dog. We are doing this; don't think about it so much or you'll talk yourself out of it!
Then we went to breakfast. Again, I was going to skip out. Partially due to severe lack of funds in the bank account and partially because I really wanted a shower and a NAP! But we all went to The Flying Biscut Cafe and boy-oh-boy was I pleased with that decision! Not only was the food fantastic and decently priced (except for my tiny pile of fruit that cost $3!), we also had an outside table and Bekahdoggy was able to join us for the meal :-)
I came home and promptly fell asleep for 3 hours. I still haven't showered. I wanted to blog and post a couple of pics to keep up my journaling of movement, as well as show off that our morning trail walk was in 75 degree weather with a nice breeze and shade - no sign of snow whatsoever :-)
