I spend 7 hours - SEVEN - sitting at a computer in the library (affectionately knowns as Club West to those with frequent frequent visit points at the tantalizing Starbucks and elaborate double-monitor PCs).
I did sit next to a fellow HEB grad student who, thankfully, agreed to get up after a couple of hours to walk and get some fresh air! I can now empathize even better with those who work in office jobs every day.
And - I can say, with fervor, "GET UP EVERY HOUR to stretch your legs and get blood pumping!" This will renew your energy, decrease back pain, let your eyes-mind-neck have a break from the computer screen...
Came home and took the dog on a nice 30 minute walk. Wasn't fast at all; but the tempurature and the humidity slowed us, as well as the fact that the pooch wanted to stop and nibble every blade of grass!
Oh well. We be moving. A little. :-)
