Although this year I will not be working in my own garden for the first time in several years, I was excited by this video in which First Lady Michelle Obama addresses ACGA meeting. This was posted in August of 2010.
Gardening is an AMAZING way to be outside, MOVING, and growing fresh and nutritious foods LOCALLY for your home or a local farmer's market! I am excited to be able to attend a farmer's market here in GVille next week (usually I have class, but it is spring break - holla!!!)
I haven't been as diligent about writing about my movement and, truthfully, I haven't been as active as I was to start out with - still moving every day and getting the dog out for walks (thank God for her!) . . . 3 days ago I went for a walk/jog and it went well! However, the next few days (including today) I feel like I am walking on knives. UGH. Been sleeping with the night splints and icing my feet with the frozen water bottles AND sticking them in the pool during homework time. Buggers!
***insert physical activity break!***
Went for a delightful 40 minute walk with TK and the dog and went down some roads not-yet-seen-by-these-eyes. Fun to see different houses and landscapes . . . and flowers and animals! I REALLY enjoy having a roomie (or two, for the time being) that like to get out and move around. Accountability buddies (aka exercise buddies) are wonderful for motivating movement!
