Somehow, every time I am done talking with RoRo, I am super-charged for life. No wonder she is so great at her job! After a day of taking a nap barely after waking up and eating cereal (with fresh, local, organic, hand-picked, inexpensive, delicious blueberries, of course!), skyping with CO, followed by sitting out by the pool with my roomy (wanted to swim but TOO MANY people IN the pool), starting a new great book (The Dog Who Couldn't Stop Loving), and watching a movie, it was finally cooling off outside enough to go for a "legit" walk with the dog for exercise. And, time to call RoRo :)
True, I ate a healthy breakfast (Kashi Crunch-Triple Berry + light soymilk + blueberries), a early-afternoon snack (skim milk, ice, dutch chocolate JuicePlus powder, strawberries-all blended together), and an early dinner (mixed greens, cauliflower, carrots, alfalfa sprouts, sunflower seeds, parmesean, smoked turkey, and Satchel's signature dressing). However, my delightful evening snack of country vanilla ice cream with blueberries and graham crackers was WAY WAY WAY too much. And I had some baked tortilla chips with melted cheese and bean dip. Uff. Whoops. Indulgent, much? :-/
Realizing that maybe, if I am not willing to keep myself in a little bit better check for consumption of extraneous/non-nutritious calories, perhaps I will go back to a food log to help keep myself in check. Would anyone who reads this post mind if I copied-n-pasted a food diary from time to time, to help keep myself in check? Accountability partners, where ARE you?! :-) I don't mean that I won't have pizza or a long-island-iced-tea, or even that I will cut out all of my less healthy snacks. I just want to feel better about my body: what's in it, what's fueling it, what it looks like (vanity does not escape this health/wellness coach--neither does ice cream!! muaahahaha). I haven't decided for sure what I will use, yet. I have logged on both TheDailyPlate (Livestrong), MyPyramid, and a couple of other sites, along with occasionally keeping just a notebook. Good old pencil and paper. Better make it pen and paper so that I don't erase the creamer that I put in my coffee in order to squeeze in a bowl of chips. Oh, who am I kidding? Everyone knows I wouldn't try drinking coffee without creamer :)
I had wanted (and planned) for several months to be in Georgia, but when financial strains came in the last two weeks, my trip needed to be cancelled :(Overall, the time in Cedar Key was JUST what I would have prescribed myself had I known what I was in for. A nice afternoon of free live music, delicious fresh fish and vegetables, more free live music, water in HUGE jars (see photo below!) to rehydrate from the heat, lots of cute, quaint little shops (in which I spent NO $$), and a couple of hours walking walking walking. Not a fast-paced walk - but movement, and movement for several hours.
The day was beautiful. And we were on "island time" :-) Did I mention that we listened to live music everywhere we went? A couple of bands and also a local gal who sings country music. What a day!
